As the tennis season wraps up, it’s time for our traditional Fashion Flashbacks. This time around, we’re starting off by checking out all the different Adidas outfits worn by Jessica Pegula during her successful 2023 year. Let’s see the styles that made the American stand out on the court!
Jessica Pegula started the season at the United Cup, where her outfit of choice was the red racerback Adidas Core Club Tank paired with the navy Adidas Core Club Skirt. The skirt was notable for its shaped hemline, binding, and a left-side slit, designed to provide her with added freedom of movement on the court.
At the Australian Open, the world’s third-ranked WTA player rocked the Adidas Melbourne Match Tennis Tank, a loose-fitting light pink item made from engineered mesh, and paired it with a plain black skirt. Completing her ensemble, she sported the Adidas Barricade Blue/Violet/Mint Women’s Shoes.
During her appearances in Doha and Dubai, Pegula wore the Adidas Melbourne Skirt – Multi, a lightweight garment featuring side slits. This skirt was part of the collection designed for the year’s first Grand Slam event.
The 29-year-old completed her look with a pure black racerback tank and the Adidas Barricade Blue/Violet/Mint Women’s Shoes.
During the Sunshine Swing, Pegula launched the Adidas x Marimekko collection, the fifth collaboration between the two companies. Her Adidas Marimekko Premium Tennis Tank combined brown, beige, black and white in a 1960s wavy print from the Finnish design house. Even though the collection offered a matching Adidas Marimekko Premium Tennis Skirt, the American opted for the simplest black skirt.
On her way to the court, Pegula kept her body warm in a cropped, oversized-style Adidas Women’s Marimekko Premium Tennis Jacket.
The above orange colorway of the Barricade tennis shoe completed her look in Indian Wells and Miami.
As the season transitioned to clay, Pegula blended into the environment with her Adidas Paris Tennis Y-Tank – Gold and Adidas Paris Tennis Match Skirt – Carbon, both of which boast a pattern inspired by the textures of terre battue.
Her Barricades were in the red/blue/white colorway.
At Roland Garros, Pegula’s ensemble was also from the Paris collection: the Adidas Paris Tennis Y-Tank – Carbon, paired with the Adidas Paris Tennis Match Skirt – Red.
In addition, Pegula showcased the most unique item from the collection — the Paris Tennis Crop Long Sleeve featuring sheer tonal mesh panels on the sleeves and back.
At Wimbledon, Pegula introduced the Lawn Dress Pro, whose standout feature is a flouncy asymmetrical hemline. Crafted with a breathable stretch bodice, the racerback design showcases intricate jacquard mesh detailing on the front and a sheer mesh back adorned with horizontal stripe accent. White shorts with dual phone and ball pockets are included.
Complementing her dress from the London collection were white Barricades with jade accents.
In Washington DC, Pegula debuted the Adidas Fall 2023 collection, in particular the Fall Dress Pro, a green version of her asymmetrical Wimbledon attire. A striking neon yellow shortie is included, not only adding a bold pop of color but also providing convenient pockets for carrying essentials.
Perfectly matching Pegula’s dress were the Adidas Barricade Arctic Fusion/White Women’s Tennis Shoes.
Pegula’s Adidas apparel from the FW23 New York collection commemorated the 50th anniversary of Billie Jean King’s groundbreaking victory in the Battle of the Sexes, a moment that marked a significant advancement for women in the world of sports.
At the US Open, she wore the versatile Adidas Fall Slam Pro Set, which includes a form-fitting rib texture leotard with a 1/2 zip entry and an innovative pleated skirt featuring overlapping lightweight woven layers. The American’s Barricade tennis shoes in royal and off-white matched her ensemble, as well as her $90,000 Swiss luxury watch with the world’s first random guilloche blued titanium dial.
At the WTA Finals in Cancun, Pegula’s outfit combined the Adidas Fall Premium Tank in the semi flash aqua hue and the Adidas Fall Premium Skirt in the shadow violet color.
The American’s footwear of choice en route to the finals of the season-ending event remained the Barricade model, this time in black/silver/white.
Pegula’s fashion statements on the court in 2023 have been as diverse as her powerful performances. What was your favorite among Pegula’s outfits this season? Which Adidas ensemble do you think defined her style and presence on the court? Feel free to share your thoughts and pick your top choice in the comments below.
My favorite outfit : the FALL DRESS PRO that she started wearing in Washington.
