A month ago we got hints about what Nike designed for Maria Sharapova’s and Serena Williams’ French Open 2014 campaigns, but we’ve waited for a long time to see the official promo photos and the champions in their new clothes. Nike has finally launched the Roland Garros campaign, including Victoria Azarenka’s apparel as well!
Just like at the Australian Open, Maria Sharapova will wear the Nike Women’s Summer Maria Premier French Tunic, which will probably be longer and more like a dress than in the photo above. The tunic features modified racerback with two almost parallel straps and most of the fabric is perforated for breathability. The colors are light pink and orange, or if you prefer the fancy version of the colors, the item is officially: pink glaze with atomic orange and metallic red bronze.
Sharapova will also wear the Nike Zoom Vapor 9.5 Tour shoe.
Serena Williams will sport the Nike Women’s Summer Novelty Knit Dress with scoop neck, open back, waist-defining band and knit jacquard skirt. The dress doesn’t have a built-in bra, so you can choose your support of preference (Serena will certainly go for a Berlei bra). The dress is also available in navy, as I had shown you before, and Serena may wear it at night matches.
The flirty skirt of the dress is not my style, but it may look lively and fun on Serena.
Victoria Azarenka will hopefully be healthy for the French Open and hit the courts in this Nike Women’s Summer Dri-Fit Touch Sleeveless Polo and Nike Women’s Summer Printed Pleated Woven Skort.
The outfit is a mix of a modern take on the tennis polo and a printed skort in geranium. Other available colors of the skort are turbo green, dark base grey and bright grape, all with matte silver touches, while there is also a white skort with venom green details. Azarenka will wear Nike Lunar Ballistec shoes.
Who will be dressed the best at the 2014 French Open? I love Azarenka’s polo, I expect Serena’s dress to work well for her, while Sharapova’s style is my least favorite this time.
More French Open fashion: Ana Ivanovic will wear this navy Adidas dress, while Jelena Jankovic will play in Fila Women’s Spring Heritage Mitered Stripe Dress.
Love Azarenka’s Kit! However, i wish it was in a different color…
Ambrin Akhtar, I like her color choice. The outfit is available in plenty of colors.
Azarenka’s skirt is ugly.
I wouldn’t pic this orange for Maria… It looks kinda nude on her skin… and I think the outfit is too simple…
Serena’s dress resembles the US Open dresses, but I like it.
I also like Vica’s set. It’s a bit vintage… Love the colors.
I happen to really like Maria’s outfit design. Ever since Serena wore the biker shorts-tunic combo at the ’08 Aussie Open, I’ve been waiting to see who else would do it. I thought Maria looked good at the Australian Open this year. I might be in the minority, but the look is sporty and different than most other style choices, so I think it’s refreshing. It looked great on Serena in 2008 and looks great on Maria in 2014, at least to me. 🙂
Serena’s dress looks great, but nothing terribly new, and I’m not a fan of Vika’s look. The top is good, but the skirt throws me.
i like Serena’s outfit, really nice. for sharapova would have preferred pink and another color, wouldn’t pic orange for her though.
I like maria’s dress .colors go well together but i’m not sure how impressive it would be on clay. vika’s skort looks fun but i’m afraid it would end up being boring because of the color . i absolutely love serena’s dress . light and bright colors really suits serena
