This morning Petra Kvitova surprised us on Twitter by posting this photo and saying:
So happy to share the news with you that we got engaged!
Petra’s man is Czech hockey player Radek Meidl and, as one of my Czech readers informed me in the comments of my article about their relationship earlier this year, they have been together since June 2014, which was just about two months after Petra’s breakup with Radek Stepanek.
The 25-year-old Petra and her 27-year-old fiancé talk about the engagement in more detail in Czech magazine DNES. Radek couldn’t contain his excitement about being about to propose and Petra could feel something was going on. Czech readers, again, I expect more information (i.e. translations) from you in the comments! 🙂
Congratulations to the lovely couple! I’m glad to add this announcement to my WTA Players and their Love Partners feature.
I’m so happy for. Hopefully this will bring more positive energy into her 2016 campaign 🙂
She finally got engaged to a different Radek – a much better one. Congrats to Petra and I hope it will give her inspiration and motivation on tennis court.
I retweeted Courtney Nguyen’s tweet yesterday, she said: “Keep trying to get the dirt on Petra’s fiance but everyone keeps coming back with ‘He’s soooooo nice’ and it’s just really a buzzkill.”
I don’t thibk his fiance has anything to hide. He seems so cool.
