American Madison Keys moved into the fourth round of the 2017 US Open, defeating fellow Nike star Elena Vesnina in what turned out to be the second latest-running women’s match in the US Open history. Due to two long men’s matches, the Keys vs. Vesnina encounter started shortly before midnight and ended at 1:45 AM, only three minutes shy of the all-time record for the latest-running US Open women’s match that was set in 2016, which coincidentally also involved the 22-year-old Keys.
The day also included third-round victories of world No.1 Karolina Pliskova, Coco Vandeweghe, Elina Svitolina, Daria Kasatkina, and our photographer Jimmie48 has all that covered in photos.
