On Middle Sunday, only three women’s singles matches finished, as Madison Keys and Sloane Stephens completed their sweep of Grand Slam quarterfinals by wasting little time on Court Philippe Chatrier to defeat Mihaela Buzarnescu and Anett Kontaveit, respectively. Yulia Putintseva reached the French Open quarterfinals for the second time in her career by defeating Barbora Strycova, who wrote “patiently, you will do it, rest” on her left hand.
The fourth-round encounter of Daria Kasatkina and Caroline Wozniacki was halted at Kasatkina’s lead of 7-6(5) 3-3 due to darkness.
Our Jimmie48 attended all these matches, so we have plenty of excellent photos.

Sloane’s playing great tennis and has finally gained strong confidence. She’s learned how to close out matches consistently. Madison Keys, not so good at overcoming nerves in order to close out a match. Halep is hungry for the title and certainly deserves it. With Serena, the GOAT out due to pec injury, I’m going to have to cheer for Halep here on out. I need her to stay steady, keep grinding, and finally hold up that trophy. It’s her time and turn now.
