Roland Garros Day 9 PHOTOS: Halep, Kerber, Kasatkina, Muguruza move into quarterfinals, Serena withdraws

Monday was all about the completion of fourth-round action at Roland Garros and our Jimmie48 attended all the matches.

Simona Halep and Angelique Kerber recorded confident victories over Elise Mertens and Caroline Garcia, respectively, Daria Kasatkina quickly finished her Sunday’s encounter with Caroline Wozniacki, while Garbine Muguruza played just two games when her opponent Lesia Tsurenko retired.

The day featured a major disappointment when Serena Williams withdrew from the tournament shortly before her fourth-round blockbuster with Maria Sharapova. We have photos from the American’s press conference.
