Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova and her coach Jiri Vanek got engaged at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, a place especially dear to the heart of the Czech WTA player as she won her two Grand Slam titles there in 2011 and 2014.

Three days after finishing runner-up at the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati, the 32-year-old Kvitova shared the exciting news about her love life on social media:
Happy news we wanted to share with you guys… I said “yes” in my special place.
Jiri Vanek became Petra Kvitova’s coach in the 2016 off-season, following his cooperation with Karolina Pliskova.
Rumors about the new Czech tennis couple starting circling in June 2020, when Vanek was spotted sleeping in Kvitova’s apartment. At the time, the former ATP world No.74 was going through a divorce from his wife Marketa, with whom he has two sons.
Later on, Kvitova denied that they were dating at the time, but confirmed that her coach was her boyfriend, in an interview with Blesk just before heading to play the 2021 US Open Series. The word is out that they started dating in May 2021, during the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome.
This is not the first engagement of Petra Kvitova. In December 2015 she announced engagement to Czech hockey player Radek Meidl, but they broke up just a few months later.
