The DigiCoco colorway of Cori Gauff‘s signature New Balance unisex shoe that the American tennis star will sport at the upcoming US Open is now available at Tennis Warehouse. The Pompey colorway is also here.

The Coco CG1, a high-performance shoe influenced by basketball silhouettes and ’90s aesthetics, is the first New Balance footwear designed in collaboration with Coco Gauff.

Awaiting a qualifier in the first round of the 2022 US Open, the 12th-seeded Gauff will step on the court on Monday in the bold colorblock DigiCoco version of the model, which combines energy red with bright lapis and green. We’ve already seen the teenager sport the new shoes during her practice ahead of the US Open in New York.

New Balance explains loads of technology incorporated in this product: “The distinctive looks are paired with the dynamic responsiveness of FuelCell cushioning and new Energy Arc technology, while a Fit Weave Lite woven upper provides a lightweight but supportive lockdown fit.”

The other color variant called Pompey, which comes in black/white/vibrant apricot/purple, Gauff has already promoted in competition, at the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic, Western & Southern Open and the National Bank Open this month.

Numerous design elements are inspired by the young WTA star, including her signature on the tongue and the lace jewel, as well as the coordinates of the Pompey Park, tennis courts where she first picked up a tennis racquet.

We can notice a trend of unisex gear slowly entering the tennis world. Adidas’ collection for the US Open features a number of gender-neutral pieces, and now we also have the Coco CG1, a unisex shoe with comprehensive sizing.
