To complement the vibrant hues and intricate knit patterns defining Nike‘s latest collection set to grace the courts of the 2024 Australian Open, the most popular sportswear company unveils an array of tennis shoes in new palettes, including the all-new GP Challenge 1 and GP Challenge Pro in special Melbourne colors.
The Nike Zoom GP Challenge 1 is one of all-new offerings from Nike in 2024. It’s a premium model that boasts two Zoom Air units for ultimate bounce — one beneath the heel and another in the forefoot. Notably plush and delightfully bouncy, this shoe offers exceptional comfort. Enhanced support is assured by the TPU cage incorporated into the design.
The shoe’s durable one-piece outsole is suitable for all court surfaces. It is fortified with added rubber and abrasion-resistant components strategically placed in high-wear zones.
Another important thing to note is that the GP Challenge 1 is the widest fitting shoe in the Nike tennis lineup to date. So, players who had issues with finding wide enough Nikes can give them a shot this time.
Unlike the GP Challenge 1, the GP Challenge Pro only has one Zoom Air unit, in the heel. Under the forefoot the shoe features soft foam, so it’s still nice and comfortable. Also, while the Challenge 1 model has a TPU cage for added stability, the Pro version has more of a synthetic overlay, so it has a more flexible fit. A solid shank underfoot is not as strong as the TPU plate that the Challenge 1 boasts, but it is still going to give you optimum responsiveness. A durable rubber outsole provides good traction across all surfaces.
Designed with a lower profile to enhance court feel and equipped with speed-focused elements, the Nike Zoom Vapor 11 enables swift gameplay while providing ample support, allowing you to maneuver seamlessly throughout extended sets. Key features such as the reliable molded sidewall and breathable upper complement the durable, agile design.
Nike has refined the Air Zoom Vapor Pro 2, solidifying its position as one of the most sought-after match day shoes across player skill levels. This updated version incorporates an Air Zoom unit in the forefoot, delivering increased cushioning and a responsive feel. While the shoe’s upper retains its familiar feel with an unchanged entry point, the combination of a stretchy internal sleeve and breathable mesh ensures lightweight, breathable support.
Nike’s latest tennis shoe releases cater to diverse player preferences with comfort, agility, and cutting-edge design for the 2024 Australian Open and beyond.
