Several years ago, the Australian Open was all yellow, while now, having seen several new products of major tennis apparel brands, I can safely say that the 2016 tournament will be dominated by orange/red outfits. I have already shown you the Adidas dress Ana Ivanovic and Kristina Mladenovic will wear in Melbourne, while now it’s time to present the dress Stella McCartney prepared for Caroline Wozniacki as part of the Adidas Barricade spring/summer 2016 collection (is Stella going to switch to world No.3 Garbine Muguruza as top representative?).
Twitter page CaroWozniackiNews shared with us these photos and we can see that the Dane’s Adidas Spring Stella McCartney Tour Dress for the Australian Open is a peach racerback item with beige side panels that create a visual effect of a very feminine figure.
The Twitter page also shared this photo of Caro practicing in her new dress, while there is also this short promo clip by Adidas.
Color-blocks have been very present in women’s tennis fashion for years now and the upcoming season will apparently continue to nurture them. Stella’s separates for the 2016 Australian Open include colors ranging from amber yellow to peach and red, with white and silver accents.
Below you can see the Adidas Spring Stella McCartney Tour Cap Sleeve, Adidas Spring Stella McCartney Tour Tank and Adidas Stella McCartney Aussie Skirt, although I think that the Adidas Spring Stella McCartney Tour Skirt or Adidas Spring Stella McCartney Skirt would look even better with these tops.
We also have this promo pic of Caro wearing the tank and skort from the 2016 spring/summer collection.
Shoes: orange Adidas Stella Barricades.
What do you think about the clothes? I really like them and I’ve always been a fan of sunny colors for the Australian Open.
CHECK OUT WHAT OTHER WTA STARS WILL SPORT AT THE 2016 AUSTRALIAN OPEN:

- Serena Williams: Nike introduces crop tops, yellow from head to toe
- Maria Sharapova: Pure athleticism in the Russian’s new Nike dress

- Monica Puig, Sloane Stephens: Ellesse & Under Armour tennis styles for the Australian Open
Now, this is a design I really like! I agree about the sunny colours, they seem to be the right stuff for AO and the outfits look awesome on Caroline!! Ways above the table cloth design by “standard” Adidas…
Claire, often times Adizero beats Stella, but this time, I agree, Stella is way better than Adizero. I’ll refrain from describing the new Adizero collection as the tablecloth collection, but the adjective is slowly sticking in mind head due to the comments here haha.
Usually I love Stella’s designs and find them so innovative, however, I think after all the great looks from 2015, to me at least, this one is a little bit of a let down. Yes, I think it’s a nice color choice for Melbourne (the bright, sunny colors usually pop well agains the blue court), but, I think it is a bit more conservative in design elements. With that said, it surely beats that geometrical Adizero mess of a dress. Maybe Garbine will have her own custom Stella dress now that she is getting a bit more attention than Caro!
I quite like them, however I don’t think the combintion of the tank and skirt matches colorwise…
Brian, I really like this orange dress, but I agree that the 2015 green floral one was a bigger style hit.
Liz, I think it does match, as the skirt’s hem matches one of the colorblocks of the tank.
Hmm, I’m usually a big fan of all the adidas designs but I’m not crazy about either Stella or adizero’s 2016 kits. Stella’s looks ok, just not too interesting of designs. The adizero pattern isn’t pretty at all, and the silhouette isn’t interesting or flattering, it just hangs like a sack. Hopefully I’m wrong and it’ll look much better on everyone
Same old same old….. still better than the tragic that adizero has come up with….
I really love the dress of Caro. Peach will really look good under the Australian Sun. I remember Ana sporting a peach dress last 2012. Now, Stella beats Adizero line with this dress. The fitting looks nice and the racerback details is great.
I’ve just read at Tennis Identity that the Adizero print supposedly has the word “tennis” spelled out.
