The WTA semifinal field completed on Wednesday at Roland Garros, as Garbine Muguruza and Simona Halep eliminated their quarterfinal opponents, Maria Sharapova and Angelique Kerber, respectively. Our photographer Jimmie48 is bringing us coverage from today’s quarterfinal action, just as he photographed the forming of the first semifinal pair between Americans Sloane Stephens and Madison Keys yesterday. Enjoy!

Yep, Garbine gave Sharadopa the beatdown she would’ve received anyway, had Serena not been injured. “Congrats, Garbine! You finally beat the world’s most overrated female tennis player in the history of the sport. However, too bad you lost to my girl, Simona today.” Looks like it’s going to be Simona and Sloane in the final, folks. I’d like to see Halep take the title, since she has none (slams) and has been grinding so hard for such a long time. She’s one tough cookie, but it’s time to put some grand slams on that resume and have the total package of a #1 player. By the way, as much as I like and respect Lindsey Davenport, Madison Keys needs to change coaches ASAP. Sloane outplays her on every level. The smartest thing she (Sloane) could have ever done was hire Kamau Murray as her coach. She’s been on fire ever since. “Congrats, ladies, on making it this far in the French Open!”
