We’re closing this year’s Fashion Retrospections with Fila-sponsored Karolina Pliskova.

Year 2022 marked a big loss for Fila, as their top representative Ashleigh Barty retired from the sport. Another major change in their pool of players happened when 2020 Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin replaced the F-box logo with FP Movement in January. However, Fila balanced things out by signing the 2021 French Open winner Barbora Krejcikova in May.

Even though Karolina Pliskova skipped the Australian Swing due to a hand injury sustained in training, she was Fila’s most prominent WTA player in 2022, so we’re featuring her in this fashion overview. The former world No.1 kicked off the season at the BNP Paribas Open, wearing a laser racerback tank and a pure white skirt from the Bevans Park collection, created in cooperation with Christopher Bevans, an award-winning fashion designer and creative director with over 25 years of experience.

In Miami, Pliskova sported the Fila Women’s Bevans Park Day Break Tank and the Fila Women’s Bevans Park Laser Skirt, both in color beetroot.

When it comes to footwear, Pliskova rocked personalized Axilus 2 Energized shoes in an eccentric ceramic / vibrant orange / maritime blue colorway.

In Stuttgart, Pliskova paired the well-known tank that features contrast side mesh panels with a cute navy skirt that has a pleated hem.

In Madrid, Pliskova switched to the Fila Women’s Baseline Racerback Tank and Fila Women’s Baseline Skirt. Pops of hot coral injected an energetic style to the classic separates in festival fuchsia.

At Roland Garros, the world-famous Czech debuted the Center Court collection, in particular the Fila Center Court Galaxy Tank and Fila Center Court Skirt. The apparel featured eclectic hues and patterns in sporty yet polished silhouettes, with accompanying tennis shoe colorways that served as the perfect complement to the collection’s bold and diversified look.

At grass-court tournaments, Pliskova presented the Fila White Line Racerback Tank and Fila White Line Skirt. The White Line collection nurtured classic silhouettes with timeless performance rib insert detailing and elevated pinstripe lines.

This all-pink racerback tank + pleated skirt combo from the Center Court collection was one of Pliskova’s fashion choices in San Jose.
A mediterranean blue watercolor print ensemble was the former world No.1’s other option in the lead-up to the US Open. It included the Deuce Court Racerback Tank and Deuce Court Tiered Skirt.
At the US Open, Pliskova introduced the Fila x Brandon Maxwell collab. The Racer Tank includes overlapping panels in the front that create a keyhole detail and is complemented with a wrap-style Pleat Skirt in the same colorway.
In Tokyo, Pliskova started promoting the latest iteration of the Heritage line: the Fila Women’s Fall Heritage Full Coverage Tank and Fila Women’s Fall Heritage Signature Skirt.

Interestingly, in San Diego, the WTA star appeared in last year’s outfits from the Back Court collection that combines colors navy, lime and light purple. The range was launched way back at the 2021 Australian Open, so it’s strange that we saw it again on the court late in 2022.
