Sloane Stephens won the 2017 US Open with a quick straight-set win over Madison Keys in New York City on Saturday. We have the all-American women’s final covered in photos, as well as the event that happened earlier in the day, when tennis legend Billie Jean King was joined by actress Emma Stone for a press conference celebrating the upcoming start of the Battle of the Sexes movie.

I hope you enjoyed our coverage of the 2017 US Open, including our extensive photo galleries from the tournament’s qualifying all the way to the women’s final. Here’s a list of all our photos preceding the title match, thanks to our photographer Jimmie48:

  1. Congrats to Sloane! She finally kept it together in a major and brought home the ultimate prize. It was obvious she didn’t know how to properly hold up such a grand trophy and had never done so before; that scene was hilarious! Kudos to her amazing coach, too! I pray she sticks with him, and maintains the serenity and maturity she displayed. I’ve noticed good changes in her demeanor and attitude since he’s been a part of her team. And when Coco makes those same changes, she’ll be holding up the big trophies as well. “You’re a multimillionaire now, Sloane! Enjoy the shine while you can, because Queen Serena’s coming back soon.”

  2. Oh, and Maddie, your “shine” is coming soon too. Just keep your head up and keep fighting hard. You’ve got the power, but the whole package and consistency are necessary to gain the big titles. You’ll be holding up one of the big trophies and getting the fat checks, too. Just as it finally happened for Sloane, so shall it be for you.

  4. Sloane looked like a veteran in her first Grand Slam final. Congratulations to her and to Madison as well. I am sure they will both have many more opportunities to be holding up Grand Slam championship trophies.
